Seek and Find

Seek and you will find

We know that we did not create ourselves, and that our parents did not create themselves either. How then did we get here? Today, the belief in God has been widely replaced with the belief in the theory of evolution. But nobody can prove that even one molecule of the smallest element has ever evolved spontaneously out of absolutely nothing. The hydrogen molecule is not self-reproducing either. And how many hydrogen molecules are there in the universe? All evolutionary theories are conveniently built on the assumption that the elements just were there, without even addressing the question of how they popped up out of nothing.

Whether people believe in God or in evolution, neither faith can be proven to be true. To prove that God exists, we would have to be greater than He is. To prove that the evolutionary theory is true, we would have to have existed before any element existed, before the first nanosecond ticked away.

It seems that we are in a dilemma; we cannot prove neither disprove what we believe. Is faith just a make-believe, the pretense of knowing something, even though we are not certain of it? Does faith embrace assumptions whether they are true or not? Is faith believing certain things, only because we have no better explanation? Or do we believe certain things because we have been told so since we were children?

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them [the sons of man]; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:19-20).

This web site is about faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord, whose coming was announced by the prophets of the Hebrew Scriptures, who was born in Bethlehem, according to the Scriptures.

Already as a small child was he persecuted. His life was in danger when Herod sought to destroy him by killing all children two years old and younger in Bethlehem and the surrounding area. Only because Joseph was told by an angel, to flee with him and his mother to Egypt, was his life spared.

When the family returned to Israel, he lived in Nazareth, in Galilee, for most of his life. After a short ministry of proclaiming the Kingdom of God, and healing many people of their diseases, and teaching God’s standards of righteousness, he died in Jerusalem on a Roman cross for the atonement of the sins of man.

As he had raised several people from the dead, so he himself rose after three days and nights from the grave. Within a time span of forty days, he showed himself to a multitude of his disciples, and then he returned to heaven, from where he had come.

He will return to this earth; and then every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that this Jesus, who was born in Bethlehem in a manger and died in Jerusalem on a cross, is the Messiah and Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Can I prove that all this is true? - No, nobody can prove it. Can anybody prove that all this is not true? - No, nobody can disprove it either. Over the centuries many people have tried just that; but they could not disprove that Jesus lived and died and rose again. Many even became believers while trying to prove the Bible wrong.

Why do I believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God? - There are many reasons why I believe in Him. Here I will give you four of them.

First, at his birth, angels from heaven announced to the shepherds in the field who he is: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ [Messiah] the Lord.” This is a testimony from heaven concerning his identity.

Second, reading in the Gospels about his life, what he did and what he taught, I have to say that he was no ordinary man. He healed many sick people, he even brought people back to life from death. He calmed the winds and the waves, he drove out demons. He proclaimed the kingdom of God, set very high standards of righteousness, and taught the people of to live a righteous life. He fulfilled the Law of Moses.

Third, when He was asked before the Sanhedrin by the high priest: “Art thou the Christ [Messiah], the Son of the Blessed?” Jesus answered: “I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” He did not say this somewhere in a dark, hidden corner, but openly before the supreme court of Israel.

Fourth, Jesus predicted that the Temple in Jerusalem would be completely destroyed. “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” This prediction was fulfilled in the year 70 AD. Where the Temple once stood, there are two mosques standing now.

What we believe becomes the foundation of our lives. Our beliefs determine our goals and how we live. If we believe that God created us, then we are responsible to him, and we have to give account to him for every word spoken and every deed done. If we believe that the elements created us, than we are responsible to nobody, and we can do what pleases us and whatever we can get away with.

Faith cannot be inherited, we always have to go through the experience of finding the truth ourselves. We ourselves decide to pursue the question of whether we are responsible to God or not, and we ourselves choose to stay ignorant at our own peril.

But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul (Deuteronomy 4:29).

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

And as it is ordained to the sons of men, that they must once die, and after their death the judgment; so also the Meshiha [Christ] was once offered, and in his (own) person sacrificed (for) the sins of many; but the second time without sins he appeareth for the salvation of them who expect him (Hebrews 9:27-28, Etheridge).

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price (Isaiah 55:1).

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).

The question is not whether God exists or not, or whether the Bible is true or not. But the question is whether we want to find out if God exists and if He is the author of the Bible.

In these pages I would like to share some of the things that I have found during the many years of searching, praying and follwing Christ. It is my hope that these pages will help those who seek God. May God bless everyone who stops by at PeaceInChrist.net.
